Introduction

When the mentor is satisfied that the work is ready for examination, a report is given to the Research Committee for their recommendation and for external moderation. External moderation will be a specialist in the subject matter.
After receiving the reports from the examiners, the Research Committee may give the green light for the oral defense, or resubmission with correction. If it is rejected again the researcher may appeal and request the appointment of another moderator.
A research degree requires considerable investigative ability, writing skills and critical analysis.
A PhD/DBA may be completed within three academic years. Transfer students from other institutions are welcome to apply, and advanced standing may be given for previous study and research. Extensions are permitted (maximum of Four terms for Master’s and eight terms for Doctorate).
Each academic term (semester) is 3 months. MA and MBA students are committed for a minimum of 6 to 8 terms. Doctoral researchers are committed for a minimum of 12 terms. All researchers may extend their enrolment within reason but are required to pay separately for each extension term.
4 terms a year, the beginning of each month, you can start your research degree and the term begins the first date of matriculation (entry) when the student is approved as a researcher.

Mentors
Paris Graduate School/ Innovative Knowledge Institute will allocate the most suitable mentor for your research. Mentors are drawn from leading universities in France and around the world. They are highly qualified, well-respected and experienced experts in their chosen fields who enjoy working with fellow researchers. The mentor and the student will decide how they will communicate: on-line, by email, skype or telephone or meeting face-to-face. Students may request a specific mentor for their research.

Learning Research
Students may utilise their own local learning resources such as university library facilities, public libraries, museums, art galleries and special collections for research purposes. The Internet increasingly offers a wealth of reliable and current information which can be exploited for the
purposes of research. Online forums, chat-rooms and audio/video conferencing can now facilitate global research discussions cheaply, quickly and effectively. Students have access to an online library of thousands of journals and magazines.

Assessments
Assessment and/or examination is built into all programmes, from Bachelor up to Doctoral levels. All thesis and dissertation submissions are examined by a panel of reviewers with at least one independent examiner. The panel recommends a decision on the awarding of the appropriate degree. A thesis or dissertation submission can be passed, or failed. In some cases a re-submission may be required, a lesser degree awarded or an oral examination. The College has a policy on Intellectual property rights, and encourages successful students to disseminate and publish the outcomes of their research.
